Despite the bleak weather forecast, students from Bishopton PRU made the most of their educational visit to Whitby on Thursday 23rd October 2025 — and what a fantastic day it turned out to be!

Armed with a specially designed scavenger hunt, students explored the seaside town while taking part in a range of fun and educational challenges. The activity combined teamwork, problem-solving, and local history as pupils made their way around Whitby’s famous landmarks — from the harbour and Whitby Abbey to the iconic 199 Steps — solving clues, collecting hidden items, and completing creative photo challenges along the way.

The scavenger hunt map featured literacy references, points of historical and geographical interest, and maths-based questions, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. Throughout the day, they demonstrated key personal development skills such as teamwork, resilience, respect, and readiness — proving they were prepared for anything, rain or shine!

After a day full of adventure and friendly competition, the winning team — The Whitby Jets — claimed victory with an outstanding effort. Their creativity, determination, and collaboration shone through as they raced to complete the final challenges and earn the highest score of the day.

The trip formed part of Bishopton’s ongoing commitment to providing engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help students build essential life skills while having fun. The day ended perfectly with ice cream by the seaside — a well-earned treat to round off a brilliant day of teamwork, learning, and exploration.
